Progress on Separation and Hydrothermal Carbonization of Rice Husk Toward Environmental Applications

Owing to the increasing global demand for carbon resources, pressure on finite materials, including petroleum and inorganic is expected increase in future. Efficient utilization of waste resources has become crucial sustainable resource acquisition creating next generation industries. Rice husks, which are abundant worldwide as agricultural waste, a rich source with high silica content have potential be an effective raw material energy-related environmental purification materials such battery, catalyst, adsorbent. Converting these into valuable often requires separation carbonization; however, processes incur significant energy losses, may offset benefits using biomass process steps. This review summarizes discusses value RHs, waste. Technologies separating converting RHs by hydrothermal carbonization summarized based efficiency process.
